Marquetta Dickens - PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Marquetta Dickens joins the OYE organization as the Program Director with a vast amount of life, counseling, coaching, administrative and playing experience. Dickens overseas programming for OYE to ensure alignment in energy leadership principles and psychology.
Dickens degree in sports management with a minor in business from North Carolina State and a Masters in Student Affairs and School Counseling from Monmouth University supports the synergistic approach that OYE thrive on.
Dickens enters her third year at William Peace University as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. She was recently named the Vice Chair of the NCAA MOIC. The Minority Opportunity and Interest Committee works towards nurturing an inclusive environment and culture to provide equal opportunity and resources.
Dickens previous experience as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics at the College of St. Elizabeth garners the experience of coaching in its totality.
Dickens is also the CEO of Freedom organization. Freedom Org is a 501c tax exempt Community Development Corporation. Their focus is to assist traditionally under resourced communities as well as individual community members to discover their own freedoms. This includes harnessing their collective power through historical preservation, economic development, education, community engagement, and agriculture.
